“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened.”
― Anatole France
I have always loved painting portraits of all kinds. Recently, I began painting the pets of friends and family members and I found it to be such a joyful experience. I also found a way to connect my joy of painting with community service. I charge just enough to cover my expenses and the rest I donate to a local animal center.
Capturing the personality of your pet is a priority -- I don't simply copy a photograph. I work in a brushy, gestural style to create a lively surface that reflects the unique spirit and energy of your pet.
I am a retired art conservator living in Southeastern Pennsylvania. My household consists of two humans and a cat named Dab, who keeps us all in line.
